IC-SARI
STRIVE 002: IC-SARI (Immunocompromised Severe Acute Respiratory)
IC-SARI is observational, multicenter, multinational prospective cohort study conducted using the STRIVE observational master protocol. This study will enroll adults with an immunocompromising condition who are admitted to the hospital with a severe acute respiratory infection (SARI). The study will advance knowledge on the pathogens most commonly causing SARI among immunocompromised adults globally and on the clinical outcome of patients with these infections.
Participant will be followed 60 days

STRIVE Observational master protocol (STRIVE 002)
This study is an observational prospective clinical study with enrollment of adult participants hospitalized with an acute infection. The protocol is designed to facilitate the study of a broad array of acute infectious diseases over time using the same study protocol. The protocol is structured with a master protocol that describes overarching goals and study procedures, plus study-specific appendices that describe discrete studies that will use the overarching framework of the master protocol.
Prospective, longitudinal studies of people with acute infections are essential to understand risk factors, clinical manifestations, pathobiology, and management strategies. Observational studies can provide data necessary to select interventions and strategies for testing in clinical trials and to develop key design features of trials. Observational studies can be particularly important for establishing an early knowledge base after emergence of a new pathogen, as illustrated by the recent emergence of influenza A (H1N1), SARS-CoV-2, and Mpox.
